Writings to Heal and Inspire

Soldiers for Heaven and Earth

written by Debra Gaz August 3, 2016

I have a son in heaven
I have a son on earth
My son in heaven is a soldier for God
My son on earth is a soldier for his country

My love for both goes beyond any boundary
Of words to describe
I yearn to be with both
They reside in other places
Yet also within my soul
One is in heaven and the other
Separated from me by vast seas

They could have been
Something other than
An angel or a soldier
I did not know what to foresee

I live with a part of my heart
In heaven and the
Other part on earth
I feel both sons together within me
Where they were born to me
As they grew inside my womb

When I need strength
I think of my sons
With the power to protect and heal
I feel them so strongly within
My sons keep my heart beating
With memories so precious

My heart and soul has the most
important nourishment; Love
The bond of mother and sons
Remains forever true

I go within my heart and soul
Open the doorway to heaven as
I still walk upon this earth
Loving and always thinking about my sons
Working to protect and heal others

I did not choose for my sons to be soldiers
But everyone needs protection,
Blessings and love
I qualm my fears and count
The days until I am with my
Soldier sons
So much braver than their mother

I fervently pray to God
To take care of my soldiers
As they take care of others
Their work is so important
They cannot tell me
Their missions

Shine your light upon them
To guide and protect them
As I pray and love them
With my worrisome motherly heart

I pray for strength and guidance
To walk this journey
Because I have soldier sons
One in heaven
One on earth
Always on missions
Protecting and serving others

I lost my youngest son Gaven in May 2011 close to his 23rd birthday. My purpose is to reach out and share my experience, Inspire, and help others walking this path. You are not alone If you have lost a child, we are sisters united by grief that pushes through all boundaries. Together, may we found strength and inspiration to continue, until it our time to reunite with our heavenly children.
